The birth of KJM Cosmetics ( Review)

I have been vocal of my liking lip tints as my go to lippie. My adoration of lipsticks I say is never ending. I mean, it doesn’t stop when I own one, it accelerates to a brand then comes the color variation, then the degree of this color variation. I laugh at the degree of the color variation thing, it is when you already have this color but if you’ll come across another you’ll still buy it. In any  makeup line only a makeup junkie will understand this behaviour. I said this because when I recently checked my lipstick acquisition, I found that I own a few ( a few?! common) lip tints. And I found this one that I purchased later of last year that I haven’t used yet. Let me introduce you to the lip tints and balm of KJM Cosmetics.

As I’ve said, I want  my lip color come in different degrees. This serves well when I chose this Cheek and Lip Tint. Aside from the fact that the very lovely and ethereal beauty of Sophia Andres has made this a cult following by claiming as her favorite, the decision of owning one came a surprise. I guess it really helped seeing her sporting that natural looking luscious lips, but I didn’t know that my far-fetched ( I guess…) thought of finding a lip tint with that vampy, after-blood-sucking color could finally come true. So even if I still have some unused ones waiting their chance, I opted to make this on top of them. I just noticed that ever since my love for this bad boys had started, there aint any color variation in my stash. They all fall to the cherry red color family. Nothing deep which I wanted to be. Yes, I’ve tried the Korean brands but I guess nothing has came up to my standards.

With my lip tint experiences in mind, I’ve come with my own tick list of the qualities that I would love these babies to have.

  • long lasting – because some tints just aren’t
  • non-drying – sometimes I couldn’t understand why a certain would leave my lips so dehydrated
  • doesn’t leave a filmy residue in my inner lips – I find a product sucks if I notice that it gives me this filmy residue when I open my mouth. I just couldn’t put a finger to describe it but it’s just awful.
  • should be like a second lip – this should be on the top, I know. There are just some kind that settles in your lip lines and then they’ll know it’s a lip tint alright!
  • doesn’t bleed on my teeth – I know I wish to have a vampy color, but please I don’t want to portray one.
  • doesn’t have a taste – I could get away with this I guess but it’s much better if it hasn’t.

Okay, comparing KJM Cheek and Lip tint with this categories, I’m happy to say that it came up with a good rating of 5/5. I know it seems too good to be true but that’s why it became my favorite right? I just don’t know why I prefer to use those colors on a summer month though. Some notes that I want to highlight, the colors really stays true to what’s in the roller bottle (which is a plus to prevent spillage and waste of product ) Though I must say that it might vary ( through oxidation) for those who have a high acidity level in their skin. The swatches of bittersweet magenta (which I chose for my summer lips) is also very suitable for your cheeks, if you want to have that long lasting flush ( my recent summer flush that is ;)) I see that it didn’t settle on my pores. This is really non-drying so I got to achieved that hydrated lips even if it’s a hot season. And I love that my lips feels soft and really natural looking. I also got to try their Pandora Lip Tint Balm. The minty flavor really makes your lips look full. The color is also very pigmented it’s just that it’s too dark on my lips. Maybe this coming rainy season, when the weather gets cold that I could wear this color. All is made with all natural ingredients so nothing to worry about. I know that not all are accustomed to these kind of colors but good thing KJM has a wide variety that you can choose from. It’s affordable at Php 150. I bought mind directly from the supplier all the way from Davao. Lol! But don’t worry it’s now readily available from distributors in diffrent parts of Metro Manila. Packaging is neat with it’s minimalist vibe and thumbs up to the roller bottle that gives a good control on the amount of product you’ll use .

Come rainy season, I know I might be pulling the Vibe variant now along with Pandora. Hooray to local brands. Hooray for KJM!

The Lipstick Tag

I’ve never been more excited when I was tagged by what I consider as my fairy godsister, Stash Matters to do The Lipstick Tag. A big THANKS for granting me my wish. My posting is already three days behind time due to an inevitable circumstances (original post was deleted! *facepalm*) that I have to start over again. If it weren’t for the love of lipsticks… Anyways, if there is one product that I often use as an excuse to break my “low buy” rule would have to be buying lipsticks. If I can’t resists my urge to be polite and talk to every single brand as I walk down every make up aisle, I would end up bringing home a load. With that I decided to put a condition, to purchase more on locally produced brands just because they are limited and hoarding will be avoided. This explains that certain products mentioned here are not that familiar. Let’s get started.

The Rules

  1. TAG 3 bloggers to answer these same questions.
  2. Those bloggers will TAG 3 more bloggers of their choice with the same questions & rules.
  3. No tag backs

The Questions

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

I have 36.

2. What was your first ever lipstick?

If my memory serves me right, it’s Lancome Rouge Magnetic. I just forgot the name of       the color but the hue is nude with pinkish undertone and hint of shimmers.

3. What is your most worn lipstick?

Because it’s summer here, I just wear something light and easy to wear so it’s got to be      Ever Bilena’s Lip and Cheek Stain.

4. What is your favorite brand for lipsticks?

Lancome really gave me a very good impression.

5. What is your favorite finish?

I admit that I’m lazy in retouching my lipstick so I always wear mattes. It’s a bit drying         though but I guess it’s the price that I have to pay for the compliments that I get.

6. What is the last lipstick you bought?

I bought two matte shades from Ever Bilena Supreme Matte. If you’ll ask me why always Ever Bilena, because it gives me quality dupes of some famous brands that I want. And the best part is that it only costs me quarter of the amount good enough for me to buy another brand that I love. Another one is from an online store on Instagram named Sooper Beaute. Every make up here is legit and really of good quality. I got two Lip and Cheek Creme/ Tint for the price of one. What surprised me is that these lip products didn’t dry my lips, swear!

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

I always tidy up my bag after a day so I can’t remember. But what I’m sure is Lip Tattoo Pen from FM is present.

8. What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?

shut up

I love the bluish red that compliments my skin tone and it’s demi matte.

9. How do you store your lipsticks?

They are all placed in one drawer. But I’m planning to buy some acrylic cases. Looking      at the array of lipsticks neatly arranged would be really fun.

10. What lip products are you currently lusting over?

I have two. First, the Peripera Rouge Pang. The Intense colors are very intriguing to think that these are only lip balms. And Rire Lip Manicure which is a matte lipstick said to be long wearing than your manicure but only it’s for the lips.

I don’t want to end the excitement so I’m tagging christyy2010  Sanseoul and Binequeen to do the tag as well. I really want to know a lot more of what these beautiful ladies already has.

The Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Stain Review

Hi All!

April has been giving me very challenging days that I can’t hardly cope up with my blog. I know, this shouldn’t be my excuse, since I’ve been missing you guys so much. One of my April highlights is my sister’s wedding. And so my other sister and I have been obsessing with what clothes to wear, shoes, make-up, etc. That typical bridesmaid problem. Only we’re not the bridesmaid. Anyways, we don’t really dwell that much on the clothes to wear but we focused ourselves on our make-ups. What to do?? To be honest, I’m not really a make up wearer. Don’t get me wrong here but I love them. It’s just that  i’m not into the full-gear-wearing of such. My staple would be, a good primer, good foundation (something that will get along with my combi skin well) brows, and very nice lipstick. If there is an event that I would attend, this calls for a blush. I believe that if your lipstick is good enough, it would accentuate your eyes and cheeks well. There are these lipsticks that once you wear, it gives a certain glow in your eyes as well as a hint of blush on the cheeks. That’s on my opinion. And since it’s a family event, this calls for a blush on!

I’ve been on the hunt for this Lip and Cheek Tint since I saw this sought after celebritry here in our country sport it on tv. She admits that this is her holy grail since she’s a mestiza a simple flush would do. I know it’s not only me but millions have been following on what’s that specific brand she is using. It really did her justice knowing that this is a local brand, and since mostly all celebrities here uses the high end ones, this really is a must have. On a second thought, maybe it only suits mestiza skin. Or wilI it give me the same flush that she had since my skin is not as fair nor smooth. But then again, girls mindset would be, “I-might-achieve-the-same-look” pushes well.

Due to some advertising technicalities that they were not allowed to disclose the name of the brand, since they’re not sponsors. So with a failed heart, I stopped my haunt. Until one day while strolling down the make up aisle that I found this tube very similar to what that cekebrity is holding. Yes, I had really photographed it in my mind so well for future reference. Finally, it’s a match! And to give a confirmation to my findings, I read from the brand’s official Instagram account  that it is indeed what she is using. Can’t really contain my excitement on these since it’s been on my lookout for months! And my hesistance and second thoughts was erased when I finally used the product. It really didn’t fail me. So, here are my thoughts on the Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Stain in Very Red:image

Pros

  • The color payoff is very good.
  • The gel like consistency makes it easy to blend, which also gives you the right amount of time to adhere in your skin. Thus answering my lip and cheek tint problem in which the product easily dries up once you put it on your skin. Giving you no time to blend and worst becomes patches of red giving you a clown effect.
  • The staying power is long. Had it on for 7 good long hours on my cheeks  without touch ups. Had it also on my lips and suprisingly it didn’t dried up nor it gave me a chapped one.
  • Reasonably priced at Php 135 or $4 for a 20ml. Comes in an easy to squeeze transparent tube giving you control on the amount of product you want to use.
  • Has a sweet smelling scent.

Cons

  • Though it smells good, unfortunately it tastes bitter. But that did’t bother me much as long as it’s tolerable.
  • The color wears off on my lips after eating so I need to touch up. But this was after 6 hours.

Summing it all up, Ever Bilena is a must have specially for those who wishes quick look transformation and who are always in a jiffy. It’ affordable price but good quality made it a stand out to other local brands.

Let me know your thoughts on Lip and Cheek Tints. And would you prefer it rather than powder or mousse blush on.

Have a great day ahead!😘
